The Portuguese Historical Center will be hosting its annual Recognition event this year on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at the UPSES Hall.  Our Recognition Event honors individuals in our community that have given or continue to give great service and dedication to our Portuguese community. It’s a wonderful time to get together to applaud our awardees and connect with our peers.

With this in mind, we are reaching out to all of you to please submit the names of anyone you know that fit the criteria listed below. The four categories in which our candidates will be honored for are:

  1. Lifetime Achievement Award: This recipient should hold or have held a leadership role and a major contribution to an organization or the Portuguese community for a significant time.
  2. Humanitarian Award: This recipient should hold or have held a personal involvement with others in need or within an organization with a willingness to sacrifice a cause for the betterment of our community.
  3. Business Leadership Award: This recipient should be committed to the betterment of our community while encouraging to promote active community involvement through volunteering.
  4. Youth Leadership Award: This recipient should be between 17 to 30 years of age and inspire others to be involved in our community. This youth leader should be an active member of a community organization, be responsible and be a positive role model.

Be sure to provide a short paragraph detailing the reasons you believe your candidate(s) should receive this award.  Please include names of the organizations your candidate is involved in.
